They poured, screeded, floated and finished the parking garage cellar floor slab #2 today. Some shots of the crew using mechanical helicopter floats to finish the surface. Concrete finishing is all about timing. Proper timing seems to be achieved as one gains more and more experience. Things like the weather, temperature and wind speed can effect evaporation and setting time of the mix. A "concreter" has to be able to respond immediately to the changing variables and make corrections before it's too late. To think on ones feet as they say. The work is truly like brain surgery, where if you don't know what you're doing, there are plenty of things that can go wrong and there's no turning that clock back.
